All of the sudden your skinny jeans begin to feel a little tighter than before. You can’t figure out why, after all you’re eating “low fat,” right?

Now you’re frustrated, and the yo-yo dieting begins.

But they continue to lie…

Now they tell you that carbs and sugars are bad for you. That they make you fat. Then all of a sudden the low and no carb craze sweeps the nation. But your body, always the efficient chemist, continues to do its best to balance things out.

Here’s what happens next.

First you lose a few pounds… then your body catches on and plunges into starvation mode (this is bad, very bad). In a nut shell, your metabolism crashes and all progress stops.

You begin to feel weak, tired, irritable and lack energy. How can you even think about exercising in that state?

You can’t. So you don’t.

And sooner or later you snap, begin to eat carbs again, and your body goes into storage mode.

Guess what happens now?

We all know what happens to the home exercise gadgets, don’t we?

Finally, the government chimes in on the subject. Surely they have the solution. The public service announcements begin to run on TV and radio. It’s a media blitz to save the country. Americans are getting fatter than ever before!

The campaigns begin: Eat five meals a day and exercise! All it takes is 30 minutes, three times per week.

Can you guess what happens next?

That’s right. While Uncle Sam has good intentions, America continues to get fatter. And now the latest recommendation from the government is to exercise 60-minutes a day, five days per week.

I don’t know about you, but here’s what I think. If people aren’t following a three day a week, 30-minutes a day recommendation what makes the government think that they’ll actually follow a five day a week, 60-minutes a day regimen?

And so your skinny jeans find their way into the closet, hanging in the back, waiting for the day that you’ll try them on again.

All the while you’re frustrated. Tired of the yo-yo dieting and the on again, off again exercise programs. Sometimes it just seems hopeless, doesn’t it?
